Molecular Cell Physiology

Research profile

Prof. Hans Westerhoff

The Molecular Cell Physiology research group examines how the interaction of macromolecules gives rise to life, to the functioning of living organisms. The research group develops and implements Systems Biology in the context of microbiology, medical biology and biotechnology.

Permanent staff members direct research groups on cellular bioinformatics, regulatory networks, entering the living cell, tumor cell biology and interaction between cells and their live environment. The Molecular Cell Physiology research group participates in the Netherlands Institute for Systems Biology (NISB) and the Research School BioCentrum Amsterdam.
