Majorie van Duursen commented on the new website ‘’
The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), VeiligheidNL and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport launched the website The latest scientific knowledge is gathered on the new website to make consumers more aware of the products they use and to help stop rumors about those products. Professor Majorie van Duursen commented on the website in the Dutch News NOS ‘It is a good initiative, there is a lot of information gathered and I think that there is high demand for this information’. However, van Duursen also noted that the site should not serve as a reassurance to people and in this way wipe the discussion about substances off the table. Biochemist Maurice Visser developed the Oeauo water filter, which captures fragrances, flavorings and microplastics. Experts are critical about the device, but also about the presence of microplastics in drinking water.
