We are happy to announce a special AIMMS seminar on Wednesday 23rd of June at 12.00 by emeritus prof dr Guy Richards, MD and dr Ade Wentzel, MD. They will discuss a metabolic aspect of Covid-19 infections that has gained traction and has guided promising treatment of long-covid patients, including one of our own AIMMS researchers:

The role of NAD+ metabolism in the pathophysiology and treatment of long covid

Prof Guy Richards is Emeritus Professor Critical Care, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and will introduce the biochemistry in the clinical setting. Dr Ade Weztel is Consultant Anaesthesiologist, Port Elizabeth, South Africa and will provide an in-depth look at the playing field with respect to NAD+, those at risk, SIRTUINS, Covid Induced Secondary Pellagra (CISP), possible immune ramifications and the influence on Tcell and Macrophage function.
