This AIMMS-PhD project 10-001-206 is part of the AIMMS programme Molecular mechanisms of biological processes.

The project bridges the two research groups Biomolecular Analysis (FEW, PI: Martin Giera) and Systems Bio-informatics Systems Bioinformatics (FALW, PI: Bas Teusink). This PhD-project is part of a research programme hosting three PhD students in a collaboration of four research groups. Summary

This systems biology project studies the interactions of signal transduction and metabolism in normal and cancer cell lines, through a combination of quantitative experimentation and modelling. This should ultimately lead to in silico designed drug target strategies where both the metabolic network and the signal transduction network can be targeted at the same time. (Read more)
