GPCR-mediated oncogenic signaling, targeting 14-3-3 as mediators of apoptotic/proliferative switching

Programme / Research groups
This AIMMS-PhD project 10-001-201 is part of the programmes Molecular mechanisms of biological processes and Design and characterization of molecules and medicines.
The project bridges the two research groups Receptor Biochemistry (FEW, PI: Marco Siderius) and Structural Biology (FALW, PI: Bert de Boer).
Keywords
14-3-3, (viral)-GPCRs, signalosome, fusicoccin, cancer, (phospho)proteomics
Summary
In this project we propose to characterize new protein targets for cancer therapy. These proteins interact with 14-3-3 proteins and function downstream of chemokine receptors involved in cancer development. The fusicoccanes FC and Cot-A, known to stabilise specific 14-3-3-target protein interactions will be evaluated to modulate GPCR-controlled pathological signalling. (Read more)
