- PhD student
Amir Prior MSc. studied Life Sciences and Biochemistry at the Tel-Aviv University (Israel) where he received his Master’s degree in 2009. After working in the analytical department of a biopharmaceutical company, he started his PhD research in 2012 at Utrecht University under supervision of prof. G.J. de Jong and prof. G.W. Somsen. His PhD projects involves the development and application of capillary-electrophoresis (CE) technologies for the analysis of chiral amino acids and small peptides. In this project, different CE techniques for the separation of the analytes are studied as well as different detection techniques, like mass spectrometry and fluorescence. In 2013, Prior moved with Prof. Somsen to the BioMolecular Analysis research group at VU University Amsterdam.
