Assistant professor

Dr. Oleg Gritsenko studied Chemistry at Moscow State University (USSR), where he graduated in 1974. He subsequently worked at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of USSR Academy of Sciences and obtained his PhD in 1982 for research on the theory of homogeneous catalysis. Gritsenko then worked at various institutes of USSR Academy of Sciences as a scientific researcher on density functional theory (DFT) and non-linear science theory until April 1992. Thereafter, he moved to University of Valladolid (Spain) where he worked as visiting senior scientist on the pair-correlation function approach of DFT until April 1993.  From that time on, Gritsenko works in the Division of Theoretical Chemistry at VU University. In December 2001, he was appointed assistant professor. His current research interests involve density matrix functional theory (DMFT) and its dynamical extension time-dependent DMFT.
