Nico Vermeulen awarded in Indonesian World Class Professor Program

AIMMS Director Nico Vermeulen (professor of Molecular Toxicology) has been invited to join the Indonesian Visiting Professor Program 2017, launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.

As a result, he may be placed as visiting professor at different universities in Indonesia for a maximum period of six months, in his case starting at Universitas Indonesia (UI, Jakarta).

The World Class Professor (WCP) program invites world-class professors from famous foreign universities to join Indonesian universities as visiting professor, for a maximum of 6 months. The goal of the program is to give Indonesian universities and scholars a chance to interact with renowned and distinguished professors and to enhance the Indonesian academic life, competence, quality and development of technology and innovation.


To be awarded a place within the Indonesian WCP program, professors should be nominated by an Indonesian top-university and must meet certain quality criteria, including having a track record in conducting global mentoring, having an academic position at a foreign University listed at the QS top 100, having a certain level of citations and H-index. In addition, professors should have experience in receiving research funds from international agencies, and must be willing to give public lectures and to send group members to academic institutions in Indonesia.
