AIMMS Post-Graduate School Chemical Biology successful

The first course of the AIMMS Post-Graduate School has been a great success

PG1 PG3

Almost 20 post-docs and PhD-students from AIMMS, Leiden University and industry, followed the final workshop of Hein Coolen (LACDR, StagePharma io) on Lead Finding Strategies. The course participants worked in this final session on four fictive targets and presented their strategies. They were well prepared for this job, because they followed during two days several lectures on Chemical Biology, taught by AIMMS professors. They learned the basics, background and scope of Chemical Biology, and introductions into Pharmacodynamics, Target Finding and Signal Transduction, Pharmacokinetics, ADMET, Drug Discovery and Safety, Biomarkers, Organic Chemistry, Computational Modeling and Radiolabels and Imaging. They visited the RNC and tried to make their own first ligand-protein models during a modeling workshop. All in all, a successful start of the AIMMS Post-Graduate School.

Thanks to all the teachers!

Next course will be in January, on 'omics'. More details will follow soon: keep visiting the AIMMS website
