PhD-programmes

The primary aim of the PhD programmes (4 years) is to train talented students to become highly skilled and independent scientists in AIMMS-related areas of research. AIMMS will establish a structured programme of PhD courses. This, as well as minimal number of three publications in top-scientific journals per PhD thesis, will be the basis of a high-quality PhD degree.

AIMMS groups participate in research schools and Institutes with excellent PhD education programmes. International PhD courses are already offered within the frameworks of LACDR, HRSMC, NRSCC, TI-Pharma and the Bio-Center Amsterdam. The same is true for high-quality summer schools for PhD students from national and international organisations (e.g., HRSMC-IRTG and ULLA).

There are currently about 80 PhD students working within the research groups selected to participate in AIMMS. Furthermore, the AIMMS PhD projects fulfil a special function. They bridge at least two sections and several AIMMS programmes.
