Management

The management team consists of the scientific director (Professor Nico P.E. Vermeulen) and a managing dircetor (Jacqueline E. van Muijlwijk-Koezen) and three programme managers who are opinion leaders and heads of the departments involved (Professor Holger Lill, Professor Romano V.A. Orru, and Professor Bas Teusink). The scientific director and managing director are responsible for day-to-day management.

The Management Team (MT) meets on a fortnightly basis and takes responsibility for: 

• Preparation of long-term (5 year) and annual policy plans; 
• Preparation of annual reports and standard protocol evaluations; 
• Suggestion to the Supervisory Board of appoinments at chair level and of membership of the Scientific Advisory Committee; 
• Approval of research projects to be undertaken at the Institute; 
• Deciding on further approval for projects that fail to meet the quality parameters.
